Weekly Bible Study: The Helmet of Salvation 🛡️

Hey Cross Woven family! Welcome to Monday Bible study! Today, we’re diving into one of the most powerful pieces of the Armor of God—the Helmet of Salvation . 😄 Whether you’re new to faith, a teen like me, or someone who’s been walking with God for a while, this study is for you! Let’s get into what the helmet of salvation is and why it’s so important for your walk with Christ. What is the Helmet of Salvation? The helmet is essential for any soldier—it protects your head, and spiritually speaking, it protects your mind . The Bible says in Ephesians 6:17: “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” The helmet of salvation is about guarding our thoughts. When we choose to believe in Jesus and accept His salvation, we’re also choosing to fill our minds with His truth. The enemy loves to attack our minds with doubts, fears, and lies. But when we have the helmet of salvation on, we remember that we’re saved by grace, that God loves us uncondit...

Starting a New Chapter: Weekly Bible Study Every Monday!

Image
Hello Cross Woven community! I’m thrilled to announce something new and exciting! Starting this week, I will be posting a Bible study every Monday . These studies will dive deep into Scripture, offering reflection and encouragement for your walk with God. Each week, we’ll explore a different topic, unpacking the wisdom of the Bible and how it can strengthen us in our daily lives. To kick things off, we’re going to start with a powerful subject: the Armor of God . The Armor of God is an incredible passage from Ephesians 6 that teaches us how to stand firm in our faith, even when life gets tough. It’s about the spiritual tools God has given us to fight battles we cannot see. From the belt of truth to the helmet of salvation , each piece of the armor has a special purpose in protecting and empowering us. But I won’t give away all the details here! This week, we’re focusing on one key part of the armor, and I’ll be sharing how it applies to your life. These studies will also include Bible...

How to be ALL in with Jesus

Image
Have you ever wondered what it really means to be all in with Jesus? I know I have. We hear people talk about giving their life to Christ, but sometimes, it's hard to figure out what that actually looks like in our everyday lives. Does it mean we have to be perfect? Does it mean we never mess up? The answer is no—being all in with Jesus doesn’t mean we never fall short, but it does mean living with a heart fully committed to Him, no matter what  What Does It Mean to Be "All In"? Being all in with Jesus means surrendering everything—our worries, fears, dreams, and even our failures—to Him. It’s about putting Him first in every area of our lives. This can be tough because, as humans, we naturally want to hold onto control. We want to plan everything out and make things happen our way, but Jesus calls us to a different way of living. In Matthew 16:24, Jesus says, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” That’s what it l...

Connecting to God: The Struggle and the Freedom

Image
Life can feel overwhelming, right? Sometimes, the weight of everything—school, friendships, family, our personal struggles—makes it feel impossible to connect with God. We hear people talk about feeling God’s presence or trusting Him with their problems, but for us, it can feel distant or out of reach. And that’s okay to admit because you’re not alone in feeling that way. I’ve had moments where I felt like I was trying so hard to connect with God, but it felt like my prayers were bouncing off the ceiling. It’s like, "Where are You, God?" In those times, we can easily get frustrated, and the harder we try, the further away God seems. I want you to know that those moments don’t mean you’re doing something wrong. In fact, it’s usually in those tough moments when God is trying to show us that He is the one reaching out to us . 👐 The Beauty of Surrender Here’s the thing about connecting with God—it’s not supposed to be about striving or trying to be perfect. God doesn’t ask us ...

John 3:13 – Heaven's Open Door

"No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven— the Son of Man." – John 3:13 In John 3:13, we get a glimpse of something incredibly powerful—Jesus is the only one who has come down from heaven to reveal the truth to us. This verse speaks to Jesus’ divine authority and His unique connection to both God and humanity. He didn’t just come from heaven to perform miracles and teach parables—He came to open the way for us to experience eternal life through Him. As teens and young adults, we are often searching for purpose, meaning, and truth. Life throws so many challenges our way—whether it’s dealing with pressure at school, struggling with identity, or feeling isolated. The good news is that Jesus, the Son of Man, came down from heaven to be with us and to guide us through these moments. What Does This Mean for Us? Jesus Knows Our Struggles: Since Jesus came from heaven, He understands what we go through. He’s not a distant God who is unaware of our pain, do...

5 Simple Ways to Honor God in Everyday Life

As Christians, our lives are meant to be a reflection of God’s love, grace, and truth. Honoring God is more than just going to church on Sundays—it’s about living out His Word in every moment of our lives. Whether you’re a teen balancing school, friendships, and family, or an adult navigating your own challenges, here are five simple ways we can honor God every day. 1. Live with Integrity One of the most powerful ways to honor God is by living with integrity. Colossians 3:23 says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." Whether it's being honest with our friends, giving our best effort in school or work, or making decisions that align with God's will, living with integrity shows that we respect God’s truth and care about His opinion above all. 2. Speak Words of Life Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that "the tongue has the power of life and death." How we speak to others matters. Are our words building oth...

My story, My truth, My testimony...

HI, I am Shyanne Diels I sometimes go by Autum (my middle name) this is My Story, My Truth, My Testimony. My life has been full of ups and downs, and it starts with how I became. My mom got pregnant with me by force my dad wasn't a good man (I wont tell her story not mine to tell) I am her 4th in the birth line. I was born March 1st 2007 via emergency c-section because my heart stopped In every hospital photo you see of me there is wires everywhere my arms.legs my head. I have brain damage I have some dead spots on my brain. not everyone believes me when I say it but I trust what my neurologist tells me is true. But from that day God new I had to stay he had a plan for me! So my little body fought and fought and even though it did and I am alive today my life hasn't been easy one bit.  Around 3 years old I remember walking into a busy street on my way to pick up my brother and cousin's from school. That day changed my life. After the accident of walking across the street (t...

First Day of School: Walking in Faith and Confidence

Hey Cross Woven fam, it’s Shyanne here! The first day of school is here again! I know that for a lot of us, this day can bring a mix of excitement, nerves, and maybe even a little bit of dread. New classes, new people, maybe even a new school altogether—there’s a lot to handle. But this year, as we walk through those school doors, let’s do it with a new mindset. Let’s walk with faith and confidence, knowing that we’re not alone. God’s got our back! ### Starting Fresh The start of a new school year is kind of like a blank slate. It’s a chance to start fresh, set new goals, and think about the person you want to become. Whether last year was amazing or a struggle, this year is a new opportunity. And as Christians, we can step into this new season knowing that God is with us every step of the way. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us: *“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”*  So, whethe...

Walking with God: A Teen's Journey

Hey Cross Woven fam, it’s shyanne here! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to walk with God as a teenager. Sometimes, it feels like life is moving at a million miles an hour. Between school, friendships, family stuff, social media, and just trying to figure out who we are, there’s so much going on. And in the middle of all that, it can feel like God is just another thing on a long list of things we’re supposed to keep up with. But here’s the thing—I’ve realized that God’s not just some item on a checklist. Walking with Him isn’t about doing more; it’s about letting Him be part of everything we do. The Everyday Journey When I think about a journey, I picture something big—like a cross-country road trip or an adventure in a faraway place. But our journey with God doesn’t always look like that. Sometimes, it’s more like a series of small steps—like waking up every day and choosing to trust Him, even when things don’t make sense. As teenagers, we’re all on a journey...
